Further to our post in regards to our Fundraising for St Vincent de Paul, we had students who over the weekend put their faith into action, working very hard to raise money for the Winter Woollies appeal. Harriet and Georgia spent Saturday making 48 vanilla and chocolate cupcakes, and Samuel then helped the girls to ice and decorate them. The girls made a Winter Woollies sign, created an ingredient list, and rehearsed talking points to describe what school they attended and who they were raising money for. The three then set out around their local neighbourhood and door knocked selling their creations, $3 a cupcake or 2 for $5. There were some extra generous donations from their neighbours that helped them reach $120 in sales! They were thrilled with the success of the bake and we are extremely proud of their actions as students at OLOL. Well done in spreading their Faith and raising awareness of those who are less fortunate than ourselves.

Our school community wrapped ourselves in comfort and compassion for Pyjama Day, beautifully connecting the warmth of our favorite PJs to the boundless love of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart. By donating to the Vinnies Winter Appeal, we put our faith into action, matching the Sacred Heart's preferential option for the poor by supporting vulnerable families in our community. We can all rest assured that our generosity will bring bed-times ahead for those facing hardship this winter

Congratulations to our Year 6 debating team on their fantastic victory as the negative side in Round 3, confidently arguing the topic "Learning a second language should be compulsory in primary school." Thanks to their strong arguments, sharp rebuttals, and excellent teamwork, the students thoroughly impressed the adjudicators and took home two wins. We are incredibly proud of their outstanding effort, and we are excited for our team as they continue their debating journey!

Our athletics carnival was absolutely track-tacular, and everyone really paced themselves to the limit! We definitely hurdled over all expectations and had a total blast running the show.

Huge congratulations to Eva for making history as part of the first-ever MacKillop Girls Rugby League team at the NSWPSSA State Championships! We are incredibly proud of her for being one of only two girls selected from the Parramatta Diocese, and what an unforgettable moment to be presented with her jersey by NRLW superstar Quincy Dodd!

As well as musical talent from our band last Friday night, we also had some drama talent showcased. Congratulations to Ruby and Josie who have just finished 6 performances of the stage show Cinderella at the Hills Music Dramatic Society - the local community theatre. They were thrilled to see their teachers there on Friday night.
