Dance students impressed the crowd with a range of dazzling performances
Hundreds of students from 35 primary and secondary Catholic schools from across the Diocese showcased their creative talents in a series of music, dance and strings performances throughout June, culminating in the ‘Best Of’ performance on 23 June.
The showcase events demonstrated the high calibre of choral, music and dance work from Catholic schools, under the Parramatta Diocese’s creative and performing arts initiative, CAPTIVATE.
The program provides learning and performance experiences for students, as well as builds expertise and a sense of community across the system.
CAPTIVATE is very popular with five new schools joining the program since last year.

What an achievement! Our Hills Cluster Final for the Annual Voice of Youth Speeches was held with our two representatives, Sophia and Grace, sharing their fantastic speeches to our students across the region. Sophia and Grace worked tirelessly to create and present such high quality speeches. We are very proud of the fantasic speeches, not only by Sophia and Grace, but all our Year 6 students.

The Our Lady of Lourdes Leaders attended the 2025 Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese Education Mass with representatives from each school in the diocese. This is an important celebration, led by Bishop Vincent, to gather as a Catholic Schools community in this Jubilee year with the focus as 'Pilgrims of Hope'. We also show our gratitude to Mrs Hanna, who represented our parent community and led us through the Liturgy of the Word at the Mass.

Congratulations to Emerson in Year 6, who is driving home the point that hard work pays off! He had a tee-rific performance at the NSWCPS Golf Tournament, finishing with an equal first Nett score and securing the runner-up spot overall. That’s a hole-in-one achievement! It was a wonderful day for Year 3 and Year 5 as they came together to make weaving plates for Book Week! We were all threaded together in this fantastic activity, inspired by the book Afloat. Year 5 did a great job of spinning a yarn and helping Year 3 with their creations. The theme of weaving—through the community, having a yarn, and connecting to country—was a perfect fit!

A huge congratulations to all our students who competed at the Hills Zone Athletics Carnival! Despite the wet weather, you didn't let the rain dampen your spirits. You truly 'rained' supreme, showing incredible grit and determination. We're so proud of all your hard work. Congratulations to the students who will now compete in the Diocesan Athletics next week.

Our "Book and Adventure" Book Week parade was a true literary masterpiece! We had so many creative costumes, it was a real page-turner from start to finish. We're so glad everyone got on the write track and put in such an amazing effort. Our students are definitely on the novel prize list for best-dressed! We hope no one is feeling too overdue with their next reading adventure after all that fun.

Book Week Parade Congratulations to our parents and students on the fabulous costumes that were on display in the annual Book Week parade. Even though the rain had other plans for us today, we were still able to parade the fabulous costumes. We dig this! Year One went on an excavation adventure at The Big Dig Archaeology Education Centre! We dug up history and had a trowel-y good time. We unearthed artifacts and learned about convict life, and our students were truly history in the making. Our little archaeologists got their hands dirty and had a monumental day!
