Principal's Message
Welcome to Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School. I am sure you will enjoy the friendliness of the school and parish community.
At our school we aim to create an environment in which the Catholic faith is fostered and each child’s potential may be realised. Our Lady of Lourdes School tries to promote Christian ideals which are reflected in our school motto, to know, to love and to serve.
Education is a process in which children are challenged to use and develop their skills. Education is growth, but all children do not grow at the same rate, or in the same way.
The home and school share a common aim – to help each child to grow into a happy, fulfilled and creative individual.
Our curriculum, school activities and learning environment are focused on meeting the varying needs of your children:
- Religious and moral: a sense of God and of faith, understanding of Gospel virtues and a sense of acceptance in terms of race, religion and ability;
- intellectual: skills in communication, reading, computation, logical thought, problem solving, plus acquisition of a body of knowledge appropriate to the stage of development and stimulation of curiosity;
- Physical: clothing, shelter and safety, appropriate physical activity, rest and leisure;
- Social: participation in activities with others, a sense of acceptance, companionship and belonging;
- Emotional: a sense of security and recognition, a feeling of self-worth and success;
- Aesthetic: self-expression through creativity, powers of appreciation and discrimination.
